Celebrating ten years since the revival of the Maison’s name, Czapek journeys back to the future with the Time Jumper, powered by the new in-house Calibre 10.01. A bold twist on traditional guillochage decorates the futuristic lines of its 40.5mm steel case, while the half-hunter cover plays a refined game of hide-and-seek with the time indication and the open-worked movement beneath. Released as a limited edition of 100 pieces in stainless steel and 30 in 3N 18-carat gold, the watch pays tribute to Czapek’s 10th Anniversary celebration. Reimagining François Czapek’s 19th-century pocket watches with playful, avant-garde flair, the watch displays jumping hours across two discs – a première with a patent-pending mechanism – and trailing minutes on a peripheral ring. The new three-dimensional guilloché pattern on the half-hunter cover creates the illusion of a black hole, its central loupe revealing the heart of the movement within.

HEAD IN THE SKY, FEET ON THE GROUND

Flipping open the cover unveils the entire movement beneath a sapphire crystal glass, a spectacle of light and motion.

“Our goal with the Time Jumper was to rethink how we express time and bring something unexpected to life,” says CEO Xavier de Roquemaurel. “We’ve long been fascinated by time indications that move beyond traditional hands, and the jumping hour offered the perfect canvas. Yet most executions are similar, and we wanted to reimagine the complication in our own distinctive way.” The result is an almost literal expression of Czapek’s ‘head in the sky, feet on the ground’ philosophy: the former embodied in the retro-futuristic flying-saucer case, the latter anchored in the round form inspired by historic pocket watches. Every surface, curve, and proportion is considered with architectural precision, creating a design that feels both pioneering and timeless.

The Calibre 10 begins with a centrally mounted winding rotor in recycled 950 platinum, skeletonised to reveal the architecture below in its purest form. The overall design is fluid and harmonious with concentric circles, graceful curves, and an open interplay of bridges, anchored by the geometric arms of the compass-shaped rotor. The five-spoke wheels, finished with diamond-bevellededges, add technical artistry and elegance. Calibre 10.01, the first expression of this philosophy, combines a central jumping-hours display on a 24-hour register with trailing minutes on a peripheral ring. Two sapphire discs – one for single digits, one for tens – create a seamless passage of time. The flying-saucer case evokes an astronaut’s instrument, suggesting a watch built for discovery and curiosity.

INTRODUCING CALIBRE 10.01

Haute horlogerie finishes, in combinations that define Czapek’s aesthetic, bring life and movement to Calibre 10.01. The rhodium-coated bridges contrast elegantly with blackened plates, creating reflections that suggest light breaking through the depths of space. Traditional negative engraving on the rotor meets the precision of laser-engraved numerals, filled with glowing Super-Luminova. Representing a new chapter in Czapek’s technical evolution, Calibre 10.01 was designed, conceived, and assembled in-house, with 75 percent of its components machined internally. This approach is not about total vertical integration, but about intelligent independence – the freedom to collaborate with the finest artisans while retaining control of the craft and honouring the traditions that define Swiss watchmaking excellence.

SPACE ODDITY: CALIBRE 10 AND THE NEXT DECADE

For its 10th anniversary, one might have expected Czapek to unveil a complex calibre showcasing its technical prowess and haute horlogerie mastery. True to its independent spirit, however, the Maison chose a simpler approach: focusing on hours and minutes only, displayed in an unconventional way. Calibre 10 was born from the idea of exploring and bending the space-time continuum. While Czapek’s first nine calibres paid tribute to classical complications, this new creation marks a shift towards a new era: a platform designed to host an evolving family of movements over the coming decade. Each version will be entirely re-engineered, ensuring that every complication is fully integrated rather than added as a module. Compact, self-winding, and architecturally adaptable, Calibre 10 embodies efficiency, agility, and vision — a true celebration of Czapek’s first decade and a foundation for its next.

A FLYING SAUCER INSPIRATION

“We wanted an avant-garde and uncompromising design without being extreme – different from other Czapek models yet a clear expression of the brand’s signature elements and aesthetic codes,” explains Xavier de Roquemaurel.

The design was led by the jumping hour display, which determined the form and style of the minutes. These had to be in a guichet or aperture – hence the half-hunter idea, which in turn created an ideal canvas for guillochage. With the cover closed, all eyes are on the hour indication – under the bubble-shaped loupe in the centre of the case (the flying saucer cockpit), which is set directly over the dial crystal. With the cover open, the full reveal of the mechanism and the complications is there to understand and enjoy.

THREEDIMENSIONAL GUILLOCHAGE

The guilloché pattern on the case cover adds another visual layer. Czapek’s longstanding partner Metalem, which has been evolving the once-lost savoir-faire of guillochage in new ways, had proposed a new pattern that proved to be perfect for this piece and is now exclusive to Czapek. An evolution of the vortex-like Singularité guilloché created for the Antarctique Tourbillon, it creates the optical illusion of curves being drawn into a deep centre.

Completing the space-time story, the Time Jumper’s presentation box also takes the form of a flying saucer made of aluminium with a sandblasted finish and tiny polished details.

Thanks to its large central rotor, this timepiece can be wound by the movement of your wrist (or your winder if you change your watch regularly).

This watch has a diameter of 40.5 mm. The proportions of a watch are always very subjective, but we recommend this piece if you have a wrist circumference greater than 16.5 cm.

This watch is water-resistant to 30 meters (3 ATM). We don't recommend baths and showers!
